Teoria do Hotel
Selo Demônio Negro: 2018
A work of original Brazilian poetry.
"Theory of the Hotel: a theory of passage (of places through bodies, of bodies through places), a theory of endless foreignness, theory of intrinsic inhabitation. A theory of poetry, too: every poem is a hotel room, a possibility for temporary housing, a diary in history and language. Also a theory of love: every romantic encounter, however long-lasting, has more to do with shared hosting than co-habitation. There doesn't seem to be love in this book, except in the irreducible strangeness and in the imminence of separation. Which is of consequence for the handling of time: 'In Hotel Theory, it is the / wait that matters.'"
